Authorization of calendar items

In the “authorization and filtering” document of the Timesheet module is described how different groups have access to different pages and also how the data shown within those pages can be filtered for project leaders, managers and ordinary users.

For calendar items we have a separate authorization mechanism which we can use to set the permissions regarding the calendar item for each individual employee for each of the three calendar item types.

      General calendar item

The authorization of the general calendar items is done in the calendar privileges page (Calendar/Planning > Settings > Calendar privileges).

For each individual employee A, B or C can be set. When a new employee is created, the default value here is A. The difference between the general calendar items and the planning items and appointments is that with the A value, other peoples general calendar items are hidden from the logged in user.

Planning item

The authorization of the planning items is done in the planning privileges page (Calendar/Planning > Settings > Planning privileges).

For each individual employee A, B or C can be set. When a new employee is created, the default value here is A. The difference here compared to the general calendar items is that the logged in employee can always see the other employees planning items.

Appointment item

The authorization of the appointment items is done in the appointment privileges page (Calendar/Planning > Settings > Appointment privileges).

For each individual employee A, B or C can be set. When a new employee is created, the default value here is A. The difference here, compared to the general calendar items is that the logged in employee can always see the other employees appointment items.

Employee admin page

The privileges can also be set in the employee admin page. When the edit page is active on the right side of the admin page and the employee whose data is being edited has access to the Calendar & planning module, the A, B and C values for the three calendar items types can also be entered here.
