Timesheet history and development
The development of WATCH started in 2001 in the Netherlands, Europe. Originally intended as a custom project to satisfy the time registration needs of an internationally operating company, timesheet has developed to a general purpose application for time registration and project planning. WATCH Timesheet has been commercially available since 2003.
Timesheet, Calendar and Planning and Contact Management is being used by a wide variety and continuously growing number of companies. Companies like hospitals, insurance companies, manufacturing plants, engineering bureaus, design companies, lawyer firms, software development companies and many more. In every situation where it is important to keep track of hours spend by employees or suppliers, WATCH can provide detailed insight in these hours.
WATCH Timesheet has always been at the forefront of time management and after localizing the software for use in China it is the most advanced time management software available in China.
Timesheet from start to Timesheet bundle now
WATCH started as a timesheet application. Soon after the first release the Dutch company that designed and developed the application extended the application with the WATCH contact management and WATCH calendar and planning modules. In Europe there is also an invoicing module available to turn the hours from the timesheet combined with the hour tariffs into invoices. Also available are dedicated project management and file handling modules.
During the last 9 years the application matured into the high quality application with excellent performance it is today
Timesheet Development
WATCH is designed in the Netherlands and most of the programming takes place at TwinTown Software Dev. Co., Ltd in Suzhou, China. By contract, every year a major updated release of WATCH Timesheet comes available to our customers. The new timesheet functionality is selected in close cooperation with our customers to create an even better application and improved user experience. Also in China, we cooperate closely with our customers, and companies can apply to be part of our timesheet development group and have a say in future functionality of our time management and project management software. WATCH Timesheet has been available in a localized Chinese language version since 2008 for a selected group of companies and in 2009 available nationwide.
Expected Timesheet functionality
In the near future the financial part of the application will become the fourth module for the Chinese market. The direct creation of invoice pdf files might not be useful for the Chinese market at this moment, but monitoring the expected financial performance with the actual registered hours and expenditures can be very useful input for looking at financial performance of activities and projects for companies wherever they are located. It will be a very useful tool for financial management.
